ABOUT BALSAM PIER BEADING
Balsam Pier Beading is a woman- and Indigenous-owned small business based in Tkaronto. The owner is Amie Therrien, a Métis woman born and raised in Penetanguishene, a small town on the shores of Georgian Bay, where her family has lived for generations.
Amie began beading through online classes with the Toronto and York Region Métis council during the pandemic. The classes were a lifeline to connect with local Métis community and reconnect with our culture. Beading remains a vital creative outlet for her and sharing her work with the world facilitates connection with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Each handmade piece is crafted with care and is meant to be fun to wear and help you feel your best.
