The Rayne Project - Books

Me and My Hair is a story told from the perspective of a young black girl named Rayne.  

She starts a new school and gets bullied because her hair does not look like everyone else’s; as a result, she begins to hate her hair and anxiously thinks of ways to change it.  

My BIG Dream

With the gender gap within engineering, I wanted to shed light on the issue through a children's book entitled "My Big Dream".  It's about a young girl who is excited to share with her classmates about being an engineer, but a boy tells her that her dream career is for boys not girls.
